Monica Evra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in December, 2008 from Georgia State University. Monica obtained her Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling with a Concentration in Marriage and Family therapy at Argosy University, Atlanta campus in March, 2013. She was an intern for Counseling Innovations for 5 months and also completed her hours required for her associate license. She received direct supervision from Carol Moore, MA, LPC (Director for CI) during this 4 year period. Monica is now a fully-licensed therapist (LPC009435-Georgia)

Monica has experience working with children, adolescents and adults both on the individual and family level. These experiences include working with elementary girls in an after-school program that offered mentoring and education/application of necessary life skills. She has also completed an internship experience in which she was offering community based (in-home) services to clients dealing with a range of issues. She has experience working with those who have suffered from domestic violence, relationship problems, anxiety, grief/loss and depression. Monica has also worked with Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) in order to perform home evaluations on possible placement for foster children.


Monica’s approach is a combination of different theories meaning that she treats the client with the most effective form of therapy specifically tailored to their needs. She also believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to the counseling process. Theories that will be applied include Person-Centered, Family Systems, Transgenerational, Psychodynamic, Narrative and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. The goal for clients is to reach their full potential by challenging their ideas and beliefs in order to promote personal growth. It is Monica’s belief that her clients are continuously growing, capable of change and have the ability to gain insight regarding their lives.
