Blake Armstrong, MEd, NCC

Background:

Blake Armstrong is a nationally certified counselor with a Master’s in counselor Education from Georgia Southern University. He has received his bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences from the University of North Georgia in 2020. Blake uses a person-centered counseling approach, meaning you are the expert of yourself, and he works to help empower you on your journey through life. 

Approach:

Blake has experience working in a range of settings such as addiction clinics, community service boards, and private practice. He uses motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based techniques, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to assist in empowering and building insight with individuals.  Blake has advanced training in Gottmans’ Couples counseling model and can provide counseling for a range of relationships and partnerships. He believes in acknowledging diversity in all its forms including race, gender, sexuality, age, and ethnicity. Each of these parts of a person’s identity informs who you are as a person and who you are within the therapeutic setting. Blake strives to honor every part of a person and give you a space where you feel comfortable expressing your most true self.  

Fun Facts:

Outside of therapy, Blake enjoys staying active and playing with his cat, Mardi. A fun fact about him is that he loves crafts, and this sometimes translates into therapy. He is currently offering virtual therapy services and would love to hold space for you.
